Micah 6:6-8

With what shall I come before the Lord
    and bow down before the exalted God?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
    with calves a year old?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,
    with ten thousand rivers of olive oil?
Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression,
    the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
    And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
    and to walk humbly with your God.

Avec quoi donc pourrai-je ^|me présenter à l’Eternel ?
Et avec quoi m’inclinerai-je ^|devant le Dieu d’en haut ?
Irai-je devant lui ^|avec des holocaustes,
avec des veaux âgés d’un an ?
L’Eternel voudra-t-il ^|des milliers de béliers,
dix mille torrents d’huile ?
Devrai-je sacrifier ^|mon enfant premier-né ^|pour payer pour ma transgression,
l’enfant issu de moi, ^|pour expier ma faute ?
On te l’a enseigné, ô homme, ^|ce qui est bien
et ce que l’Eternel ^|attend de toi :
c’est que tu te conduises ^|avec droiture,

⁶ بِمَاذَا أقتَرِبُ إلَى اللهِ،
وَأنحَنِي فِي حَضْرَةِ اللهِ العَلِيِّ؟
أأقْتَرِبُ بِذَبَائِحَ صَاعِدَةٍ،
بِعُجُولٍ أبْنَاءِ سَنَةٍ؟
⁷ هَلْ يُسَرُّ اللهُ بِأُلُوفِ الكِبَاشِ،
وَبِعَشَرَاتِ أُلُوفِ أنهَارِ الزَّيْتِ؟
هَلْ أُقَدِّمُ ابنِي البِكرَ ثَمَرَ جَسَدِي
ذَبِيحَةً عَنْ إثمِي وَعَنْ خَطِيَّتِي؟

⁸ قَدْ أخبَرَكَ اللهُ مَا هُوَ صَالِحٌ
وَمَا يَطْلُبُهُ مِنْكَ:
أنْ تَعْمَلَ بِحَسَبِ العَدلِ وَالمَحَبَّةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ،
وَأنْ تَحيَا بِتَوَاضُعٍ مَعَ إلَهِكَ.
